Shropshire-based Dulson Training is helping more people become HGV drivers through fully-funded courses, thanks to a government-backed Skills Bootcamp programme. The company offers free HGV and ADR training for individuals, or 90% subsidised training for SME employers.
The 16-week programme, designed to address the HGV driver shortage, provides everything from enrolment to securing a professional driving job, with minimal disruption to other commitments.
Steve Dulson of Dulson Training said: “The Skills Bootcamp has been very successful, and the attraction of free training has helped many new drivers start a career in HGV driving. We’re still offering these funded courses, so we encourage anyone interested to get in touch.”
Operations Director Hayley Norgrove added: “The programme covers everything, including medicals, skills training, theory tests, and employer engagement. It’s open to anyone over 19 with a UK driving licence, and we also offer subsidised training for employers looking to upskill staff.”
One successful trainee, Mitchell Fellows, praised the programme, saying: “Without the free training, many people wouldn’t be able to pursue their ambition of becoming an HGV driver. The Dulson team was excellent, and I’d recommend the programme to anyone.”
