For the second year in a row, HVO is being used by every team in the British Truck Racing Championship (BTRC), underlining that the fuel delivers on-track performance alongside meaningful environmental benefits.
With the heavyweight trucks tipping the scales at over five tonnes apiece and generating more than 1,000bhp, carbon emissions had become an increasing concern for organisers in recent seasons. In response, Truck Sport UK and the British Automobile Racing Club made a clear commitment to cutting emissions across truck racing events.
That commitment led to a partnership in 2024 with UK fleet management solutions provider Silvey Fleet and its group company BWOC, which became the exclusive supplier of HVO to all teams throughout the 2024 BTRC season. HVO was even used to power the journeys to and from each race meeting.
The fuel – and the partnership behind it – delivered such positive results that the agreement has been extended into the 2025 season. Produced from 100% renewable, sustainable feedstocks and capable of delivering up to a 90% net reduction in greenhouse gas emissions without compromising performance, HVO is helping put truck racing on a more sustainable footing.
