New electric truck charging station opens in Nottinghamshire

A new electric truck charging station has opened at the Markham Moor truckstop in Nottinghamshire, equipped with a 400 kW DC charger. The station provides two charging connections, enabling two HGVs to recharge simultaneously at 200 kW each. A ‘book and charge’ system allows drivers to reserve a bay in advance, making it easier to schedule recharging on busy routes.
Located along a key route with over 8,000 trucks passing daily, the station operates 24/7 and offers facilities for drivers, including a café, Wi-Fi, toilets, and showers. The opening of this station is part of the UK’s broader efforts to support the transition to electric commercial transport.
