In a recent survey over of 740 fleets across 12 countries, 43% of companies were tracking fleet C02 emissions but only one in four were doing so accurately. The latest European Fleet Emission Monitor (EFEM) highlighted that, as things stand, companies are not embracing advanced fleet management tools or AI to help with data analysis, reporting and decision-making.
The UK, though, was making positives strides, and even though less than 5% of fleet-based companies are leveraging AI, the UK was still ahead of the rest of Europe.
More widely, the feeling is that while the industry is not keeping pace with the technology, going forward this is likely to change. Advanced vehicle connectivity, AI and carbon reporting are expected to become ever more crucial to companies in the next 12-24 months.
